What is the secret of women who are successful AND stay true to themselves?
Is it their education, their network, their strategic acumen? Or is it their discipline, their adaptability, their work ethic?
Of course, these are all ingredients that contribute to their success. But the real secret lies deeper. Successful women – the women who thrive, make an impact AND are internally free – have one thing in common: they dare to be themselves. In full. Uncompromisingly. And that takes courage.
I talked about this in my recent interview with Elegance (read here: elegance.co.uk). About what holds women back, what fuels them, and what it really means to be successful on your own terms.
Authenticity is not a luxury, it is leadership strength
Authenticity is often seen as a “soft value. Something that is “nice to have,” but not necessarily crucial. I believe the opposite. In a world full of masks and performance pressures, staying true to yourself is the most powerful thing you can do.
Successful women know: my impact grows not by trying harder, but by daring to sink deeper into who I really am. And that requires something different from what we have been taught.
From adapting to tuning
Many of us – women of responsibility, vision and influence – were raised with the idea that we had to adapt to fit in. We learned the rules, we observed the dynamics, and adjusted our behavior to “fit in.
But what if that adjustment has moved you further and further away from your core?
Real success comes only when you make the move from adapting to tuning. No longer conforming to the mold, but daring to question the mold. Align with your values, your energy, your intuition – and from there make choices that are congruent with who you really are.
Female strength as an asset, not a weakness
In the interview, I shared that my biggest breakthrough came when I no longer saw my softness as a weakness, but as my superpower.
My sensitivity, my empathy, my ability to tolerate silence and listen between the lines – it is exactly these qualities that make me successful as a leader, coach and entrepreneur today.
The women I coach discover the same thing. When they stop wondering if they are “too emotional” or “too intense,” and instead stand up for their whole selves, something magical happens: their confidence grows, their impact deepens, and their leadership transforms.
5 insights from successful women
In my work with hundreds of women leaders, I see the same shifts repeatedly. These are the five keys they embrace:
- They take their place without accounting for themselves.
They no longer wait for permission or recognition. They choose to be visible, even if it is confronting to those around them. - They stop pleasing.
They realize that pursuing harmony at their own expense keeps them small. They dare to choose clarity over approval. - They let go of perfectionism.
They understand that wanting to be perfect is often a cover for fear. They choose authenticity over flawlessness. - They use their intuition as a compass.
Successful women integrate head and heart. They trust their inner wisdom and use it to guide their decisions. - They invest in their own development.
Not as “even more should,” but as a tribute to their potential. They seek depth, reflection and expansion – not from lack, but from desire.
You don’t have to climb up, you may land
One of the biggest misconceptions about success is that it is about climbing higher and higher. More. Bigger. Higher. Faster.
But what if success also means sinking. Coming home. Feeling deeper. Being more authentic.
The most impressive leaders I know are not the ones with the loudest voice or the tightest plan. They are the women who embody their leadership. Who enter a space and are immediately palpable. Who create safety by being themselves.
Your formula for success begins within
Most of the women I counsel are rationally strong. They know a lot, can do a lot, do a lot. But somewhere along the way, they have lost that leadership is not just about knowing, but mostly about being.
Authentic leadership requires inner security. Space to feel. To no longer reject yourself, but carry yourself. And that’s the work we do in my program Journey to Wholeness®.
There you learn not how to become someone else, but how to come home to who you already are.
You are the secret
There is no universal formula for success. No one-size-fits-all strategy.
But there is one constant: your truth.
Your unique combination of experience, vision, intuition, vulnerability and strength.
The secret of successful women is to live their truth. Without concessions. Without masks. They show themselves – with all that they are. And by doing so, they give others permission to do the same.
Your time is now
If you are reading this and feel something being touched in you, know: you are not alone. And you don’t have to do it alone.
Perhaps you too feel that there is more in you. More power. More wisdom. More desire to make an impact in a way that is right. Then I invite you to take that desire seriously.

You are the secret. And the world awaits your full appearance.
